I shall discuss the 2 main components of the module here.

Oral Presentation:
When doing OP, it is important to take note of the CAP (Context, Audience, Purpose) of the message. We also need to take note of many little things that we do during the presentation so that we can appear more confident. Through the OP, and reviewing the OP video, I feel that I have much to work on as I seem to lack confidence and this will be improved with more practice.


Written Communication:
There are many different forms of written communications for different purposes. We have to bear in mind the CAP as well when doing written communication. For some, we can use the direct approach where we state the purpose of the message upfront. This is suitable for most as many people are very busy people and by using this approach, we help to save time. The other approach is the indirect approach and this is generally used when we are trying to break a difficult news so that the message will be more subtle.
